A while ago an experienced climber wanted his picture taken at Mount St. Helens.
Everyone who takes a good look at the rim of the crater knows there are very dangerous spots, especially when there's a thick layer of snow.
They guy however must have forgotten that or just not have used his brains.
He took of all equipment and even his coat, to have the best picture of his life taken.
Moments later he fell in the crater.
Even though his friends threw a survival kit towards him, he was found the other day: dead.
Another sad example of the irresponsibility of people.
Harsh, but true.
Here is one of the common videos everyone can see.

A fast way from water to water
No, I'm not referring to the flooding in the UK. I feel very sorry for all those who are stick at their house or who have lost their home and cherrished belongings.
No, this is something to make you smile or get the chills.

Plant bulbs for christmas now
I want some flowers at christmas.
When do I need to plant the bulbs?
Or am I too late already.
The next two to three weeks is the best time to plant bulbs.
Some people begin as early as september 15 to be sure to have flowers all days of december. They keep the pots outside for some time and move them inside when it gets too cold.
But you can plant them and keep them inside all the time.
Get some good compost for potting or special bulb fibre that you soak well.
Use clean, fresh smelling, bulbs without a trace of fungus. (That goes for the compost too).
Put the bulbs close together or in layers, but make sure they won't touch each other.
Make the tip come above the sand just a tiny bit.
Keep the pots cool for a few weeks. No need to keep them dark, just cool, but not in the freezing cold.
You will enjoy to see the shoots grow.
When they're 5 cms you can raise the temperature a bit, but not too much at once.
Depending on the growth and room temperature you can move them to the livingroom.
Maybe you have to experiment a bit the first year.
Write down which bulbs you have used and what you have done.
I'm sure there will be a christmas you'll make some photographs to send to me to. :) Read more...

ShopWiki, not only for your best buys, but also to silence the guys
My autistic boy is all over the place, because his MP3 gave up.
Sometimes I get stressed because of his persistent requests for new items, but this time I told him I would look for one online. I have no plans at all to go shopping this afternoon.
The kids here wonder why mom is able to "organize" things in no time, especially when it comes to products they use and we have to pay for.
While they are visiting online stores they find with the usual search engines, I just visit my own secret place, and come up with the best prizes and the most advanced items.
Unlike other mothers they know, I suddenly speak their iPod language, so I've already used USB connection, Gig, and I even know that the red iPod shuffle contributes to helping AID's victims in Africa.
I'll share my secret with you as long as you don't tell the kids.
I use ShopWiki.com.
It's as easy to use as Google and at least as fast and certainly more targetted to what is needed when one searches for a special product.
Just enter the name of the product, click, and you'll get a list of information, which includes:
- photos for fast browsing,
- name and short description
- 5 stars rating system (with reviews one click away)
- best prize
- number of stores
- and a pop-up with the list of stores and prizes, clickable, so you'll land on the right store in internet.
To get additional informations you can find at the right side a list of Wiki Buying Guides.
The one I used today was highly informative about the iPod and all related products including the MyVu Media Viewer, which might be something to keep my son busy for a longer time.
I love ShopWiki, because I feel like I'm taken serious as a customer.
Over an over I'm guided to the best buy and I'm even warned when I'm prepared to make big mistakes, something I don't often experience in normal shops.
Take for instance the compatibility between iPods and speakers.
Not all iPod speakers dock at the same speakers. ShopWiki made me aware of this and guided me to the right choice.
At the bottom of the products you can find "related searches".
I was ready with my choice, but clicked some of the links to know more about what young people talk about.
Which came in handy.
I was in the garden, talking with one of my other sons about the iPod when the neigbour asked how he could use his iPod in the car. While my son took a breath to answer, I already said: "Just use iTrip".
The silence that followed was a consequence of their amazement.
They both looked at me and I smiled back.
"Use ShopWiki guys", I said and went inside.

Grand Theft Auto 4. They love to play it.
Post is meant for grown-ups.
It's always nice have the oldest visit home.
He hasn't been around much, because he was able to get one of the GTA IV's that were sold when this month started.
GTA IV or GTA 4 stands for Grand Theft Auto 4.
It's a game, made by Rockstar Games, a new version of the already famous Grant Theft Games.
In fact it's the eleventh game in the series, meant for Xbox 360® and PLAYSTATION®3.
At first he thought it was just another version of the same, but when he was playing he realised that the new engine RAGE (Rockstar Advanced Gaming Engine), really makes a difference.
He also likes the fact that the controls are improved a lot.
He doesn't experience as many questions or uncertainties, which adds to the pleasure.
It also enables him to play "a better line", with the added experience of being able to add personal elements.
The fact that there is no recurrence from figures, like in the old versions, where different figures got the same look, makes one feel to be in a far more realistic world.
He also tried the game out with a couple of friends, and they all enjoyed it.
Need I say more?

Bingo time!
It's so very interesting to hear how other people enjoy internet.
Today I ran into one of the elderly ladies of our neighbourhood. While waiting in line at the supermarket she complained about the fact that there are no bingo-evening anymore in the library nmear her house.
She used to go there with some of her friends.
One day her grandchild told her that she enjoyed her time online with partybingo, and she taught her grandmom the ins and outs of online bingo.
Not only the two of them have fun playing bingo, grandmom invited her friends to the bingo games too, and got a couple of nice bonusses.
She told me about the march special: partypoints will be translated into money for the Red Cross. Players won't use their points. But the points which are made will be the basis of the donation PartyGaming will make.
All the more reason to join them.
PartyBingo.com is for players of all ages, and the bright interface make participating a real celebration.
You can play: 90-ball bingo, 75-ball bingo, Instant Bingo, Old MacDonald, Fruity Looty and other games.
Before you start playing you need to make sure you have the latest version of Adobe Flash Media Player installed. No problem, as the downloadlink is right at the sign in page you.
As a special treat any beginners deposit amount above $25 will be matched up to $200.
That way you'll have a good start.
All I can do now is wish you good luck and a very nice time playing.

marketing on the streets
Now the storm is gone and the sun is shining people take on their normal spring sunday acitvities.
In moderation, as it isn't officially spring yet, and the temperatures are not yet good enough for a T-shirt and jeans without a coat, but there's a start.
There's a complete new feature on the streets here.
One of the youngsters, or should I say adolescents, is able to print on jackets and T-shirts, bags and caps, and they all wear the name and url of their blog.
It's a very effective way of marketing their own blog.
And as they also have the urls of the others in the side-column the exposure of their
urls is like a real marketing campaign.
Don't tell me they don't know what they're doing.
They want new skateboard facilities and they hope to attract many visitors to their blogs who are also willing to sign their online list of request to the council.
I love this form of creativity and told then they should carefully monitor the visitors to their blogs and confront the local shops with their success. Good sponsoring is always wanted for youth activities!

sponsored blogging
Well, I guess the page rank of this blog has died under my hands.
I thought things like this happened to surgeons, but not to bloggers.
Yesterday it was rank 3, today it's 0.
Well, after the value of my saved dollars was cut in half during the recession, putting the smallpipes I was going to buy out of reach again.
I just needed 50 dollars more.
Slowly I was saving towards the needed amount again...towards realising a very old dream.
And now the rank of my blog has dropped to zero, so I can wave sponsored blogging bye bye.
I found out in a rather rotten way:
Put all my effort in blogging for a task I was choosen for.
But it was rejected, because over night google didn't like me anymore.
It's clear that we bloggers are used, and thrown away when there isn't a number attached to us anymore.
While I was at the psychiatrist hearing that my fourth boy has autism spectrum disorder too, the last bit of fun, an instrument to realise a hobby, and maybe a way to start earning some money by bagpiping at weddings and funerals, this last bit of fun for me is blown out of the window.
It makes me feel sick.
The way I was told was not "Sorry...I've found out that your blog...". Oh no!!
It was robotlike unkind.
Like I accepted a task I shouldn't have, like I knowingly accepted to write something...
Well, I wrote some nice pieces of blogadvertisement.
Was one of the many that enable those mediating firms to excist, that enable people to have a well paid job, was one of the many that provide links for advertisers, and I always gave more links than they needed.
All for a few dollars.......
Well, let's say I'm happy I didn't have the time to convert sponsored blogging into a joblike enterprise, otherwise I would have lost an income.
Now I've just lost a dream.

RBS six nations - only the best for rugby fans
Have you seen the RBS 6 Nations Official Website?
It's the official website for Europe's premier international rugby tournament: the 6 nations championship.
6 nations compete for the title: England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, France and Italy.
The site is full of the latest news (and archived news, so you can always find what you want to know), there are comprehensive lists of tournament fixtures and results and the pages of the countries and ofcourse there's news about other tournaments, and the all time stats.
I for myself love the photogallery and the fanzone, where I can find wallpapers, venue guides, games, podcasts, mobile, team RBS, competitions and ofcourse the newsletter.
While browing through the site I found a photo with some of my scottish friends. I'm sure they haven't seen it yet, so it'll be fun to hear their reactions.
All the photos are very sharp, so it's creating a feel to be present at the scene.
I've just seen the video of the latest rugby game and completely lost track of time. (When you can't reach the url, this one works: http://www.rbs6nations.com/en/home.php)
I appreciate the fact that the site ios translated in french and italian, so all fans can enjoy this marvellous sites.
To me it's the best of its kind.

Choose where to play at Dex Casino
They're building a new casino here. Near the renewed shopping centre.
I'm not sure if they planned it with the thought in mind that women can go shopping and men can go to the casino, or if they want to keep the area crowded both during the days and the evenings.
Talking with people who went to the former casino reveals that they have changed their focus from real life casino to online casinos, and they doubt if they'll change back to the bussy and noisy offline experience.
Being online means being able to concentrate, have your own kind of music, company and your own kind of drink.
And there's more choice online... that's fur sure.
Dex Casino online is a site that reviews the best and most trusted casinos online.
This is done by a highly experienced team, who review each online casino with an eye for detail and understanding of what players really want.
This is clearly reflected on the site itself, where each casino is efficiently described, so anyone can make a well documented choice.
I like the fact that on this site the experience is described and one doesn't fall back on simple ratings one sees so often.
Creating an image and a feel, make the choice where to play so much easier. And the look of the site is already a preparation of the joy of playing at the casino itself.
Whether it's solitaire or free poker, always realise that you have to set limits for yourself.
Playing online is very addictive.

Mac Poker Online
The last months people were able to follow a poker course on TV.
The figures showed it drew far more attention than the chesscourses of the past.
I can only hope it takes away the enormous focus on football, because I´m not happy at all that I have to bycicle through a complete different part of town when there´s an international football match.
At least people who play poker don´t block the streets and play for the fun of the game.
There are so many places to play that it´s difficult to find out which site is the best.
I´ve heard that playing at Mac Poker is worthwhile.
Mac Poker adds a round $50 to your account when you play Poker for Mac or Poker für Mac.
And the Poker Bonus for Pacific Poker isn´t bad either: 25% up to $100 plus an extra $25.
.
You´ll find bonusses all over the site at the moment, so you can ensure yourself something extra for christmas.
First read the beginnersguide, so you know what to do, and also read the special pages with care and attention.
Fulltilt Poker for instance is mpst unique. Prepare yourself well when you´ll mix with those who have played it many times before.
But the best pookerroom is PokerStars. They entertain thousands of people each day, have marvellous bonusses so you can enjoy all apsects of the game.
And that´s all about it, doesn´t it.
So get informed well at Mac Poker and win!!
